I collected them in 2008, in the wild, in an area between the Rio Curutu and Rio Shishita.
It was mentioned in my report "Collecting in Pebas, Río Orosa and Río Shishita."

A problem with local color forms of A. bitaeniata found in relative small areas close to each other, is that nobody is able to see any differences between the females from the different locations. The fishermen collecting in that area then often mix females from the different streams; they say the females are "similare", and don't see the point in keeping them separated.

When you buy and breed them, you might experience that the offspring look quite different from the parents........
