I just moved here to Milwaukee from Michigan and am trying to gain some knowledge of the apisto scene here in SE Wisconsin. Are there any breeders or known distributors in this area of the country?

I have never used leaf litter in a tank before, but it is something that I am curious about. What sorts of leaves are typically used, and are there leaves which should be avoided for any reason?
Do some apistos respond to leafy hiding places better than others?

I was under the understanding that A. cacatuoides was generally an agreeable fish.
I have an orange flash pair who had been doing very well with the other members of the tank... a young pair of a A. agasizzi and C. maroni in a heavily planted 30 gallon tank. I returned yesterday...
