    A thomasi

Ugh, I miss my thomasi :( I had just a solo one, bought from an LFS for cheap because no one knew what it actually was. I loved it to dath, but it passed away suddenly about two or three months later, not sure why. Congrats on the spawn :)

    Spouses

Living proof that there are female hobbyists! In my case, its easy to add extra tanks...I AM the wife (okay, well girlfriend still technically, but legally we're common-law ;)) So, how did I manage to aquire 12 tanks in the 2.5 years we've been together? Simple. I told him I was getting...

    Apisto color-vision

I really have no idea for sure, but I think females might be yellow, especially when guarding fry, because of their natural environment. All the driftwood and such in the water they live in, with all the tanins they release, turns water that yellow-tea colour. I would imagine females in such...

    Apistogramma eremnopyge

Eh, doesn't matter anyway apparently, I'm not getting them now. Guess I'm sticking with my little bitas. Thanks anyway, though.

    Apistogramma eremnopyge

Hey cdawson ;) Well, I currently have 2 gold rams in with my 2 bitas, and there haven't been any problems...neither one of them seems affected by the water (pH is currently at about 5.5, just tested yesterday), and they get along okay, pretty much ignoring each other. I don't mind having a...

    Apistogramma eremnopyge

Lol well, if they DO breed, I would like them to be pure...I think what I'll do then, is take the bita pair out and put them into their own 10 or 15gal, and put the 4 erem's into the 33gal with the rams, see how they do.

    Apistogramma eremnopyge

They will be in a 33gal tank with my 2 bita (still young, but I think I have a male and a female), and two Gold Rams. The water softness isn't a problem...our water is unbelievably soft, to a point where I actually have to add some hardener becauses its a bit too soft for my Geos and Sevs. I'm...

    Apistogramma eremnopyge

Does anyone have any of these? I'm about to purchase two pairs of WC's from Peru. I've never even heard of them until the guy I'm buying them from posted that he was getting them in, and after a quick search, I've decided these little guys are absolutely gorgeous. Will they mix okay with my...

    Hmm...well that's a little disappointing. Least they're pretty.

    Thanks, I think...so they're a mixed, man-made type thing? Not a naturally occuring apisto?

    Apisto ID

Hi all, a member at another forum suggested I head over to your site for an apisto ID. I bought two of what the store called 'blue face apistos' today, and am wondering what the exact species name is. The pics aren't great, but they're the best I've been able to get so far...they're still hiding...
