Hi,
I've got this fish along with a few more a few months ago. They were imported from Peru I believe. When I've got these they were all very young and I didn't bother looking at them. But now I found this fella who is not a young fish anymore and is as large as a female bitaeniata slightly...
Hi all,
I was able to get some shots from a couple of pairs I am keeping at the moment and thought to share the joy with everyone. :)
A. atahualpa
A. sp. abacaxis
A. sp. vielfleck (young male)
A. tucurui
A. viejita
A. sp. nadelstreifen
A. bitaeniata (Peruvian form, unsure...
Well I am admitting I had to search for the name and look in books to find out what you are asking me. Although I'd love to have a pair of these, but I am afraid in no possible way I cannot return the favour with what you are asking, Tom.:confused::confused:

As I've spoken with a Venezuelan fisherman recently, collecting and importing fish from there seems to be very difficult having government stopped most of this activities. But I am not sure how true it is. I would love to see more of Venezuelan species as I've been after A. guttata for a long...
You are certainly right Mike. I was just trying to give an update to this post. I shall keep posting more photos every month and we may be able to see to what they will grow up. :)
Just a quick update. the dominant fish now shows a marking on the rear of dorsal fin, however I am still in doubt if they are males or females or both sexes (the images are from the dominant fish).
abrooks, I was after this fish for a long time and found the exporter in colombia myself and a friend of mine in the UK accepted to take the risk and import them. There were about 10 pairs to come in and one made its way to Germany with Frank, I know three males have died so far so there should...
I am keeping the real Viejita and to be honest your images are not really showing anything which you can confirm whether they are the real ones or not mate. Any chance for better images? Maybe when the fish is in aggressive mood?
