    A. Juruensis

Here are a few more photos. They are stressed in the photos as I just caught them out of the 120 gallon to transfer them from one tank to another tank. Again they are not good photos.

Thank you guys. I will try to get better photos this weekend.

    A. Juruensis

The flash on the camera changed how the colors look a lot. The darker two show a dark blue/green color that I haven't seen associated with A. allpahuayo before. That may just be my inexperience showing. The features appear the same but the coloration is completely different. I would have...

    A. Juruensis

I purchased these as wild caught A. Juruensis from Peru. I was assuming they were A. allpahuayo, but I'm beginning to wonder what I have. They are kept in a 120 gallon tank with a lot of leaf litter and wood. The water is heavily stained so I usually only get a brief look at them. This is...

    Bitaeniata Shishita coloring

Your very right Mike. Lighting does make a big difference. Actually I read my comment over and wanted to clarify. I do not in any way feel that the gentleman that sold me the pair misrepresented them. I think my comment may have given the wrong impression. He had them is a very well lit...

    Bitaeniata Shishita coloring

I have a pair in a 120 gallon. I have a lot of leaf litter and wood so the water is stained quit dark. My male has a much darker bronze color then that but has never shown more then a hint of the brilliant blues and yellow that were shown in the photos used to sell him.

    Mouth Problems?

Thank you for setting me straight Gerald. I had gone many years without any illnesses. Around the beginning of the year I brought in some wild caught A. Bitaeniata. Even though I kept them too there own tank within two weeks I was loosing fish through out my house. I lost a lot of very nice...

    Mouth Problems?

I am not very well versed in illnesses, but isn't the white feces in the photo a sign of a parasite?

    Methods for catching fry?

Thank you very much Mike. That is the best trick I have been shown in ages. I set it twice last night for around twenty minutes each time. I was very successful. I can see more in the tank so I will set it again tonight. Both parents were getting very agitated so I stopped. These two are...

    Methods for catching fry?

I have a pair of F0 A. Panduro in a 50 gallon tank. They have fry that are now just under 1/4" in length. The female just spent three days in one of her coconut caves and is now chasing the fry around. I'm assuming she has eggs. I have a lot of leaf litter and wood in the tank. I have seen...

Thank you Mike. I will keep my fingers crossed.

    MY NEW WC PANDURO MALES

I now had time too look on Tom and Martins page. It appears that it will not show on the females. It sounded like they received all of them at the same time. I wish I had a better idea of what I had. If the female is an A 183 will the fry show the A 184 markings? I guess what I'm asking is...

    MY NEW WC PANDURO MALES

Thank you Mike. I ordered two pair. They were all sold as "display quality wild caught Panduro". The first two females that came in with them didn't make the trip. Two more were sent, but the seller has told me they can't say what the collection point was or give me any further details. I...

    Natural tank mates

Thank you Mike. I have read some of them and they are very informative. The entire site is a wealth of knowledge. Is there any other reference material that would be helpful in learning about Apistogramma?

    Natural tank mates

I currently have a pair of wc Apistogramma Bitaeniata sp. Shishita coupled with Nannostomus Eques in a 120 gallon tank. They pay absolutely no attention to them. Tomorrow I have 2 pair of wc Apistogramma Panduro and a dozen wc Nannostomus Mortenthaleri arriving. I have a 40 gallon and a 45...

    How do I donate?

Thank you for responding Josh. I have just spent a significant amount of money on apistogammas so it will be a few weeks before I'm in a position to donate, but thank you for giving me the method in which I can. I really appreciate everything this site offers and look forward to helping out...

    How do I donate?

I don't see the donation button as described in Ted's post. Has the method for donating changed or am I just missing it somewhere?

Is there a minimum tank height for apistos?

I was curious about tank height as well. I was interested in the 33L tanks with a 12" height, but I wasn't sure if that would be too low. The only time any of my apistos go above a foot it is to chase a pencil fish away from a cave, but I'm wondering if there would still be a problem with them...

    Proper Place to post photos?

I don't know how, but I missed the members photo gallery until after I had posted photos in the South American Cichlid section under the Media tab. I can't believe that I haven't seen this before. I am assuming now that I posted in the wrong place. Should I remove that and repost it here?
