    Difference between A. baesnchi Ink50 and Inka1

I usually don't like these discussions but I'll bite for just this once. Let's get back to the original comment here because I think you guys are completely twisting the conversation. The original poster asked the difference between the Inka50 and the Inka1... People responded and 1 comment...

    Difference between A. baesnchi Ink50 and Inka1

I won't argue with anyone, I am simply giving my point of view and expressing my experiences with the species. I've had both the wildcaught and the bred inka color variant and to label the Inka color variant simply as the Baenschi without adding the Inka is misleading. Hence my example of the...

    Apistogramma Ortegai (Papagei)

I still need help sexing this specimen. The size is between 2 and 3 cm. and not showing any yellow colors and the male in the same tank is driving her away constantly.

    Difference between A. baesnchi Ink50 and Inka1

I think we can all agree that this is the Apistogramma Baenschi, but it's the Inka color variation. Just like the Apistogramma Cacatuoides (Double Red) is still the Cacatuoides, only a different color variation. Same thing applies to the Apistogramma Baenschi (Inka), it's a different color...

    A. Juruensis

This is the A. Allpahuayo. The guys from South America keep labeling them wrong. I had that same issue the first time I ordered the Juruensis from Peru and they send me the Allpahuayo. So that is likely what happened to you as well. Nonetheless these are beautiful and it's one of those mistakes...

    New A Macmasteri Behaviour

I've had this issue as well, most often in the first week after placing them in the tanks. I've received a small shipment last Friday and had this behavior with some of the Apisto's. I've seen this happen always after shipping, like Mike said, but acclimation can also be a big contributor to...

    Difference between A. baesnchi Ink50 and Inka1

You guys didn't look at the photos I posted? You can clearly see that the Inka has an orange stripe across its tail fin, also, the males are much lighter in color in the body. I can clearly see differences.

I personally don't know the Inka50, it's probably a wholesaler name that retailers keep using.

    Difference between A. baesnchi Ink50 and Inka1

There is a big difference between the wildcaught color Baenschi and the Baenschi Inka. They are both Apistogramma Baenschi but different color variations. Just like Cacatuoides (Double Red) and all the other variations. I will try and make a few photos of the female Baenschi (Inka) and show the...

    Apistogramma Sp. Steel Blue

The photos posted are from the first day so it's hard to see anything because they are still adjusting. I've had males and females before and I don't get my fish from a local shop. With Apisto's its always unclear what you have until they show bright yellow colors. Every species I've had so far...

    Apistogramma Sp. Steel Blue

Hey! Yesterday I received a trio Apistogramma Sp. Steel Blue. Even though it is a bred species / hybrid, It is still one of my favorite species. They are still adjusting and the females can be a bit fiesty. Day 1 - Oktober 24, 2014: Day 3 - Oktober 26, 2014:

I agree with Mike. My tap water is about 7 pH and I lower it to 6.5 and most species I keep do fine.

    Apistogramma Ortegai (Papagei)

Hey guys, I received some wildcaught Apistogramma Ortegai (Papagei) today and I had my doubts about 1 female actually being a female... Could you guys check her out for me to make sure I'm dealing with a female or not.
