I can't say for certain but I'm pretty sure the ones with black on the pelvic fins are all females. It's possible you have one or two males mixed in with them, but like Mike said, it's difficult at this point. The other ones look like definite males. If you can separate them, try putting all the...
Try putting a partition in the tank to keep them separate but so they can still see each other.
To me based on the blue iridescence in only one fish's flank spots and not the other's, you should have a male and female. Better pictures to be sure would help verify as well.
Would need nitrites and nitrates as well, but sounds like aggression. That many in a small tank could easily bully one to death.
What size is the tank and what does the scape look like?
You don't necessarily need to exchange any if the tank is big enough for all of them. Ideally you want at least a few females per male in A. agassizii. I've even heard of 7 before.
Okay, I stopped in at the shop and asked the owner, and he said the only information he had about the location collected was that it was in Peru. Does that help with the identification?
Thanks to both of you. I knew it was a female and I had seen some pictures of a few I thought it could be, including Ap. cf. alacrina and baenschi (A. hoignei was the other I looked at I think) but didn't want to assume.
If it's A sp. alacrina, is it likely we'll ever see these in the US trade...

Is it likely we'll ever see these in the US trade? I'm not sure what the current export climate for the aquarium trade is like in...
Hi Tom, I believe that you have migrated your website to a different hosting service since you made this post, and I think it was to pictures from a collection trip you may have made. Is there any way you can fix your links from your initial reply? I'd greatly appreciate it.
That's assuming it isn't a true transition and that the spawn he's been documenting is from the other male, but they've been separated for a while now, haven't they?
