I don't think that Mark doesn't intend to order, but he wouldn't ship the fish on until after the ACA convention.
Jeff, you can count me in on the splendens. I think they are splendens or consortus -- at least that's how Oliver Lucanus has them listed. I would also be eager to see the...
Jeff,
I'd be interested in both splendens and (the true) nudiceps (not aprilus). Mark said his exporter doesn't provide any pics. He also doesn't want to advertise here, as he wants to keep the transaction small (presumably because of limited tank space). Therefore, if you are planning on...
It looks like Mark Denaro (Anubiasdesign) will be ordering some fish, including some neat West Africans. The list includes Nanochromis splendes and (supposedly) the true Nanochromis nudiceps. Mark does pre-orders only. If you are interested, please chack out his website. I might be interested in...
Have any of you guys had any experience with this dealer, good or bad? The only reason I am asking is that I am about to engage in a transaction, but have not worked with them before. Bad experiences, if any, by PM (as opposed to posting) please. Thanks.
Looking for up to three female robertsi and up to two male brichardi, Shipping would be great, but a friend of mine could probably pick them up for me at the ACA. Thanks.
Ted,
He's yours. I will be out of town the last week of July and the first couple of days in August, but could ship soon after I'm back in town. The two pairs that formed out of the group that I got from you are constantly courting and are moving substrate like there's nothing else to do, but...
I bought a group of melaniae from Ted a while back. Two pairs have formed and I have one or two males to spare, if anyone is interested. I am willing to ship (from Zip 68516). Please send a PM if you are interested.
I use straight RO for some of my species (Tilapia joka, Congochromis sp., and a few other species) without any problems. Whenever working with more tolerant species, I add some tap water to reduce the likelihood of large pH swings.
I'm cutting back my stock of P. taeniatus Njanje to one single pair, and have three young F1 males to spare. I'm asking for a nominal fee plus shipping expenses. I will ship anywhere in the continental U.S.; pick-up is welcome too. Please send PM if interested.
I've bought from Dan Ye-Jennings a few times. She can get som pretty rare fish, so it's always worthwhile taking a look at her website. Shipping is only by UPS or Aircargo and you pay Paypal fee and box charge.
Okay, I've made it back into the U.S. with the fish. (I was handed only six specimens in Germany, but all of them made it safely into the U.S.) The experience at O'Hare was different thyan before. Although I hade made my reservation with the wildlife inspectors and arrived mid afternoon, they...
Good idea. I will call them again the day before leaving the U.S. Last time the USFWS guy faxed me a confiormation, this time his colleague didn't want to do that. The last two times I was inspected by one of the USFWS women on staff at O'Hare. A really pleasant person, actually. Or is it my...
My (limited) experience with O'Hare is that the inspectors are courteous, but really want to follow the rules. The first time I brought fish into the U.S. I didn't even know that I was expected to make an appointment, but declared the fish on my customs form. No wildlife inspector was to be...
I have a business trip overseas coming up and was planning to bring back five fish to the U.S. I have done this before and already made an appointment with the wildlife inspectors ar O'Hare. Now, on a short notice, I have the opportunity to bring back another five fish of a different species. It...
I have one pair and two female Limbochromis robertsi from a recent shipment through Toyin. I would like to add a male to the tank with the two females. I will consider both astraight purchase or trading one of the females for a male. Shipping would be to zip 68516. Thanks.
Nothing special, just the type that you find on aquabid very regularly. I set the valve to allow for a low flow rate, just enough to have the eggs bounce very gently. Tomorrow I will take a picture to ilustrate what i do once the fry are free swimming.
Funny you are moving up the thread now. I have a business trip to Germany coming up next week and made arrangements to bring a small group back to the US. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to bring more than five at a time.
I spawned ruweti a few times before passing on my breeders and juvies to other hobbyists. I found mine to be terrible parents, who always ended up eating their eggs. After three failed attempts, I started pulling the eggs every time they spawned. I used a customized egg tumbler (very low mesh...
Tony is a great guy, but very sllow replying to emails. He has great fish but the stocklist on his website is not current. It's always best to contact him by phone.
