I knew of the other forms, but I figured that they were just regional varients of Opercularis. Does anybody have or know where I can find a picture of Dicentrarchus or possibly a source for them?
We have been seeing quite a bit of fish around here being sold as A sp. Diamond and Algodon sp. Diamond . Both are the same fish and look very similar to the Galaxis that are going around in this area. Which disappointed me a bit when I called the store to see what they had and then made the 40...
It pretty much depends on your preferance, the size of the tank and the amount of cover in the tank. The best way to get pairs is to either buy a small group and let them choose for themselves or watch the fish in the store for fish that have already paired off. I myself do not have enough space...
The eggs are probably not any good, but there is always a chance that some will survive and any bad eggs will get eaten. Also stress will cause her to eat them. Either way it will help fuel her next spawn.
When I had my biotope the decor consisted oak leaves ,twigs, a couple smooth stones and a few small pieces of driftwood. I prefered the wider leaved lower growing swords for plant life. The fish were Dicrossus, a pair of Rams, Characidium, Cardinal tetras and a pair of Taeniacara Candidi in a 40...
Thanks for the help everyone. I just finished getting everything set up and running(I started at 2 pm and finished at 2:15 am) . The ph of my new water is pretty close to that of the old water.
I am moving into a new house this weekend and last night I was cleaning up some stuff that was left in the basement when I noticed a water softening system. Now I now I will do next to nothing as far as water params, but will it have any Ill effects on my apistos and other dwarves?
I believe that I may have finally got a female Hongsloi judging buy the finnage and body shape, but it has alot of red. the red covers almost all of the belly region the dorsal and ventral fins. Is this somewhat typical of tank raised Hongsloi females?
Sorry 'she' hides alot and only comes...
Outstanding! I'll eventually get pics posted of my fish. My fishroom is bursting at the seams, so I've been fiddling more with placement of established and the new tanks more than anything.
I have a pair or what I think is a Pair of Inka and I was wondering at what size do the males start to show the extentions in the dorsal spines? MY fish are about one and a quarter inches long the one I believe to be male isn't really showing any color at all just pale like my pool filter sand...
It could probably be done using sand that fine if you incorporate a healthy population of Malaysian trumpet snails to turn the sand over. Also the sand could get sucked into the filtration if disturbed enough and possibly damage it. I had thought of this when I first went to sand and also went...
I just got my first trio of Apistogramma Macmasteri, but my females seem to be oddly colored. So I was wondering if anybody had a pic of a tank bred female that I could compare to my females?
I tell ya you would better off getting them from someone here they go quick. I just sold 40 juvies to a friend of mine to sell at his store and they were gone in less than a week. Now he is waiting quite impatiently for more.
