    I have done this the same way. Add the methylene blue until there is little visibility and partial water changes once the eggs hatch. I don't think you need a lot of water movement. An air stone isn't needed just some airline tubing and some gentle bubbling.

    I don't keep it in a solution. Just keep the cap on.

    I do not keep mine in a stabilizing solution and the probe tends to dry out. I wet the probe and wait about ten minutes before taking a reading. Seems to read accurately. I calibrate about every 3 months. Readings are the same before and after calibration.

    Lights to show fish colors

    Often the lights used in the aquarium do not show the fish very well. In the sunlight our apistos look like jewels. Then in the aquarium the fish look various shades of brown. The 6500K plant lights don't seem to help. What lights have others found that compliment the fish colors?

    When I tried Endlers as dithers, they did not tolerate the soft acid water well. Now I use neons or rasbora heteromorpha without problems.

    I got mine at Stingray last time I was in Iquitos. They have faded out and don't have that blue color anymore. I was wondering how other people's fish had faired. Mike, I do have fry if you are interested when you get home.

    A few years ago Mike and Tom C. collected some intensely blue eunotus types from around the Pebas area. Did those fish maintain that color in the aquarium and in subsequent generations?
