i messed up the temp once but i have it in an old ext filter cannister with a heater, just the old upside down 2litre soda bottle thing in there, 26-28 degrees celsius. airation is usual bubler regular no airstone.. I bought the eggs on ebay but no bad reviews or anything. ? I must be doing...
So as the title suggests ive been having real issues with bbs not hatching and im not sure if its my tapwater which is very soft or that all the salt i have is dead sea salt or celtic salt, so I decided to try actual sea water, which is as easy to pick up for me as salt is, and is the correct...
thanks, didn't know you could get all that. I've got him eating bloodworm live and finally got a BBS hatch after that one in the video, my water is super soft and they are a pain in the backside. Thanks for the reassurance.
I thought the males face was a bit pointy in comparison to photos online, but he's still juvenile so I wasn't sure if there was a problem. I like them, the purple is a very interesting mark.
Got 1 male and 3 female abacaxis. They look still juvenile and are just settling in. No real aggression from the females as there is plenty hiding places in the leafs. Any comments will be appreciated to see if they look healthy and fit; I never kept them before.
yeah i can open the tap for the first 15 minutes on the barrel and let it run out, i might do that. attaching the pipe in the rain sounds like an explanation in the emergency room. ha
im using rainwater that hits my roof and thought i may start using a cheapish uv sterilser to clean water of bacteria. any thoughts? its almost impossible to ascertain if they are effective through internet reviews. what i do at present is to boil the water and let it cool before i put it in the...

the black sand that i hoovered up has turn yellow again overnight which im presuming is an algae.
My female is dead in the water, now...
yeah i think its anearobic decomposition as it is increasingly black, but i dont smell rotten egg. i hoovered up some of the sand and it doesnt smell so bad, but when disturbed there are bubbles, but i dont really get a smell of sulpher from them. The tank is a metre long by 60cm wide and deep...
my substrate was 30%peat 60% sand. i just left the tank for three months with no fish in it. unfortunately a week before I got my fish one of the tubing for the filter folded over and i added seed pods which absolutely crashed the tank. I fixed it got the water tested and bought fish. there was...
im cycling it by just letting it run with the filter stuffed with peat; and all the cinnamon etc. im not sure if thats good but it seems to be working, oh and letting the plants develop a bit. Im trying to get it right for ivanacara adoketa, so i want the ec low. my water is quite soft but i...
