I agree with MacZ trifasciata have been bred and kept for so long because they can live in any water parameters (try not to test this). I think a pair of trifasciata would probably work the best in this case.
they can be very hardy, and don't give up i know its awful to have a fish die and many apistogramma can be hardy what are your perameters? trifasciata may be a good fish for you, as well as panduro.
