I recently imported a box of 'Juruensis', i know enough to not expect the true juruensis and was hoping for A.sp 'blackchin' instead like ive had in the past... I ended up with a box of wild cacatuoides which i could of got for half the price of what i actually paid!!! Nice fish but expensive...

The algae does not bother me, i have a outdoor fishroom with a partially clear roof, this allows all the upper tanks to develop algae to a certain extent, it bothers the fishkeepers more than the fish!! although the Cyanobacteria can be a pain in the way it spreads and coats plants etc..
I...
Superb Lukasz, ive had this fish twice and couldnt manage the aggression in my small breeding tanks, im delighted to see you have success. Great pictures.
Hi Scott, ive found Pelvicachromis to be very good parents with very little agro across the genus. However all fish are different and if yours are fighting i would remove the male and allow the female to collect up all the fry and resume brood care, you seem to have a headstrong male so i...
Usually around 50/50 at various water parameters, ive never had a problem with skewed sex ratios with these fish in the 5 years ive been breeding them.. However this last batch is male heavy, not drastically so but there are definately more males than females this time round. That suits me...
Hi all, over the last few months ive been collecting groups of unusual tetras that come in as contaminants amongst wild shipments. Where-ever possible ive been trying to breed these fish and on many occassions have got lucky.
These latest fish were picked up from a exporter of wild fish...
Thanks guys.. ive always loved these fish, i went for quite a while with non in my fishroom due to lack of decent(reliable) stock..Luckily we had this wild import with 6 different morphs. I had to get the 'moliwe' as it was one id never kept or bred.
Luckily this was rectified today when...
Im very pleased with this spawn, its been a long 6 months to get any fry and there have been several unsuccessful spawns, a dead male, a long search for a replacement and now finally ive been rewarded with some fry for my time and patience!!
These fish have just been deposited on the sand...
After a large wild import from Cameroon last month several aquarists picked up several pairs each of these beautiful fish.
I picked up 3 different morphs. The 'Lobe' pair are doing well although the female hides behind the filter a lot and is rarely seen. The 'Wouri' are lovely fish, the...

Yes i always use the flash, without the flash never takes a good clear shot.
The 'abacaxis' are only available in very limited numbers here in the UK, these are a wild import that made its way to the UK early in the year, apart from that import there are no new specimens except two pairs...
Thanks all.. More to follow, ive got some really nice breeding projects at the moment.
