    Apistogramma diplotaenia

Just a few pictures to share with Apisto.com members.. I have looked for and wanted Apistogramma diplotaenia for well over 10 years, its been right at the top of my list alongside T.candidi. I was lucky enough to spend 4-5 years with T.candidi in my tanks which just left A.diplotaenia as the...

Ive had these for a couple of weeks now.. The females blocked herself into the cave so fingers crossed for a successful spawn. Nutritious daphnia?

Ive only just caught up with this thread. I dont have too much to add but i followed the link to the Russian red daphnia and have to say that is the best bit of advertising ive seen in a long time! the same strain as those found in the Moscow Alligator pool in the 60's... Pure genius and well...

    Color morph ID

Hi, where are you living? 39.99 what? Dollars, pounds? That price is at the upper end of the scale and the fish are whats called triple reds, nice fish but not at the highest quality. The shops buy these in very cheaply so there was room to negotiate the price!! The tank looks good, i would...

Hi all, the British Cichlid Association spring convention took place yesterday and was a huge success, we had several dwarf cichlid experts to lecture although unfortunately they both spoke on subjects other than dwarf cichlids..It was nice to meet Uwe Werner and Michel Keijman in person and...

    Can't find leaves? Fake leaves?

Hi Lucky7777, welcome to the forum.. Im not exactly sure if the unnatural drying of fresh leaves would work? ive never tried it as ive only ever used dead leaves that have fallen naturally! Why not have a look at Indian Almond leaves, they are large and you can cut them into sections to...

    No more adverts..

Hi Admin, i know that hosting fees are not overly cheap but please, please, please no more adverts.. Its starting to distract from the content and appears tacky and less proffessional than the last site.. It appears that its becoming a commercial site rather than a hobbiest based site! that...

wanting to buy gbr in two weeks or so

If they are true wild caught fish from Columbia then the chances of them being related are fairly thin.. Breeding wild to wild and even brother to sister is fine for a little while.. You tend to run into problems at F4 and higher if no new blood is added.

    Marina breeding box

Hi, i was going to say that personally would not recomend it.. Apistogramma are secretive cave spawners and naturally live amongst debries and decor on the substrate of your tank. By placing the fry and mother in a bare breeder box you would be depriving them of their hiding places and would...
