Can you guys help me out on this fish. I see it listed every now and then, but always as Nanochromis "nudiceps". Does this fish exist in the USA? From what I have read it is quite similar to the much more common N. parilus. I assume a lot of "nudiceps" are parilus? Anyone have a good...
I once bred a wild pair in a 5 gallon tank with lots of cover(including leaves). But I did give the male/female a steady supply of guppies to kill. Are yours wild caught? Good luck with them.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but Jeff Rapps has Iranocichla homuzensis for sale ($125 each). He states they are F1. Does anyone know who has wild stock in the USA?
Hemi confusion
Ted,
Don't you mean H. guttatus? The fish I gave you look exactly like the ones you listed under guttatus. I have stellifer, too, that look exactly like your stellifer. The ones I gave you have that bulky body type and that almost olive green/orange complexion. Couple...
H. letourneauxi?
Ted,
So the fish I gave you, which I thought was H. letourneauxi, what is it? Do you have any of your H. letourneauxi to trade/sell?
Steve
Sorry for to cause all the problems. That is certainly weird the way the link malfunctions. I thought it was a Tilapia. Moral of the story: Anyone can post anything on the internet (and then make the link do weird things).
Steve
I found the below pic on the internet but I think the label is wrong. Is this Tilapia buetterfukori (excuse the spelling).

B. nigerdorsalis
I got some wild nigerdorsalis from Toyin a couple of years ago and got them to pair up and spawn for me (have F1 pairs right now) so I'll pass along my experience, which was not always good. The first 2-3 spawns they would hold and everything would be great for a couple days...
My List
Jeff's list got me going. Here is what I have (*=breeding):
Anomalochromis thomasi
Benitochromis conjunctus
Benitochromis finleyi
Benitochromis nigrodorsalis
Benitochromis riomuniensis
Benitochromis ufermanni (only 1)
Benitochromis sp. "Eseke"
Ctenochromis polli...
Hi, I have had these guys offered to me (at a price I can't afford right now). Does anyone have any experience with them? I have bred pindu and mariae, so I thought I might give these guys a chance (after I save up for a bit...)

And Very Small Fry
And in my experience, the fry are very small and sometimes too small for BBS. I've found greenwater to be useful the first couple of days.

H. stellifer
Ted,
I tend to agree with Randall. I have a group of 7-8 in a 40G with some guentheri and they hold there own and spawn like clock work. I cull most of the fry as no one seems to want them...
Attractive hemichromis IMO.

Do the female T. brauschi have a little bit of red in the throat? I ask because I have 4 T. brauschi. Two are obviously males, very bright red throats, clearly visible single egg spot. The other two were suppose to be females but I wonder if they aren't sub-males. They have a bit of red on...
Hi,
When do the dorsal ocelli start showing up in female dwarf pikes (regani, notopthalmus)? I bought a group of what is suppose to be C. notopthalmus and many are quite small (about an inch). I have noticed only one fish so far has the dorsal spot and she is about 2 inches...
