I've been able to see the different at about 1.25-1.5" fish, although of course the caveat (as for all apistogramma) is that perhaps what appear to be females with no patterning could be just juvenile males. The best I can describe it as is similar to Apistogrammoides pucallpaensis sexual dimorphism as juveniles though.
