    DIY Pressurised CO2

Hi Darrell I don't know if you remember but you helped me around a year ago and sent me some Amazon frogbit when I was battling high nitrates in my tap water. I have since been able to breed my agassizii, although the fry could only last a few weeks before they were picked off by my other tank...

    DIY Pressurised CO2

The thing with the yeast set up is that it's not controlled. I like being in control and yes that thought had crossed my mind, but as the reaction will be controlled the pressure should never get too high, but I will probably pay it safe and use plastic (although sparkling wine would be stored...

    DIY Pressurised CO2

Hello all I was wondering if you could sanity check my idea. All constructive criticism is welcome, as this is just an idea on paper at the moment. I am looking for a controlled way of delivering CO2 to my aquarium, to minimise the risk of over dosing CO2. I am planning to make a DIY CO2...

    Could anyone help with ID

Hi I have been sold two of the following as apistogramma double red females. In the past when I have seen these they have been brown to yellow and never with the blue hue. What do you all think? Thanks in advance!

    Apistogramma agassizii

Hi everyone After spending a couple of months getting my water how I wanted it (with great thanks to Darrell) I managed to get my hands on some apistos yesterday. I rang around the local area to find someone that could supply me with a male and female pair. After a twenty mile round trip...

    How soft is too soft?

Hi Thanks for the replies. I only have a couple of plants in my 85 litre. How many would you suggest in order to efficiently remove nitrate? Think I'm going with a 1/5 tap to ro which will leave me with just under 10mg/l nitrate (the whole molecule! -Thanks for clearing this up).

    How soft is too soft?

I want to keep apistos and wondered how soft is too soft water? I have nitrates in my tap water at 40mg/l thus even a 1:4 ratio of tap to ro water would not be ideal. Thanks for the help.
