me and my wife were lookin through the gallery and just wanted to know what the deal was with them....

they are different morphs of the same species- apistogramma cacatuoides. there are actually quite a few different morphs of each species of apistogrammas and many other dwarf cichlids.

Aspen is right. It is not good enough to just know the species you have or are looking for anymore. Now you have to wade through the countless species-forms, varieties, color-morphs, etc.

The YG cacatuoides is one of the newer hybridized strains of cacatuoides now in the hobby. It is featured on the cover and in an article by Mike Yamamoto of the Feb. 2004 edition of Aquarium Fish magazine. It is also dealt with in this article:

yeah I read that article before I was just wondernin how hard they are to get, me and my wife are lookin at maybe adding some to a 75 gallon tank with some other peaceful cichlids
