worm (update with surgery)

I have found a worm on a wild red Eliza...
i am treating the fish with trichlorfon, just using half the normal dosage for bigger cichlids ... are there any effective methods
for this disease? Please advise. Thanks.

get a hand lens or some magnification and get a better idea of what the critter is
external worms are not that common, terminology now
options

louse- argulus
anchor worm - lernea
leech - pissicola

external metazoan parasites are a possibilty
as with most other external parasites you should have this fish in QT and avoid potential intermediate hosts(live foods) copepods/snails etc

if possibly remove the worm and then swab the local area with general antibacterial to ensure dont get secondary problems i damaged tissue
otherwsie trichofloron is a good strat for external parasites

watch for flashing in any other fish

Thanks fishgeek for your advice.
The fish is a newly imported fish and is now isolated
from all the other fish... i hope the trichlrofon can help...

surgery II

3a. Slowly and carefully pick out the worm... finally after 3 minutes,
the worm is picked out, together with some tissues of the fish...
