Hi, I ordered a pair of A.Borelli online but was sent 3! I'm guessing that they are 2 males and a female. Can someone help me sex them and decide which ones to keep? Please
the first one is definitely a male; the 2nd one i'm not sure i'm leaning towards a male despite the colouring but the fins are too clamped. I'm not sure of the third one - instinct sez female but the dorsal fin looks more like what i might find on a young male.
First two are males, the third is a female. The female has the tell-tale sign of that black stripe on the face diagonally down from the eye. I'm definitely not any kind of expert, but I've been keeping apistogramma borelli opal for the last year and have had several generations already. I raised 4 fry from the first gen born in my community tank in a very small tank, so I got to watch them mature. Two ended up being females and two were males. One of the males hid very well for a while, looking like a female, but you can always kind of tell as they are darker and get a little sparkly blue in front of the gills.
Hi guys I'm new in this page, I'm having trouble with one of my apistogramma agassizii pairs the seem not to be coupling up , I'm using the exact same tank that I've use in the past to couple a pair successfully
