San Diego Tropical Fish Society meets this weekend, on July 13th. Please come
attend, it is fun and we would love to have you. The San Diego Tropical Fish
Society is a not-for-profit hobby organization founded in 1948. The objects of
the society are to bring together a congenial group of people mutually
interested in tropical and exotic fishes, to promote interest in, further the
study of, and encourage the preservation of aquatic life.

You are cordially invited to attend our next meeting in room 101, Casa Del
Prado, Balboa Park at 7:00 PM this Sunday evening, July 13th. Visitors are
always welcome, and attendance is free! HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Our meetings include an informational program, a bowl show (this month is
Rasboras, Barbs, other Cyprinids, and Killifish), the opportunity to talk to
fish experts about your questions, a raffle table filled with fish, plants,
aquarium supplies, tanks, more, as well as monthly fish-oriented field trips.
We host an annual show each November, twice yearly auctions, and have a number
of junior members also! We're family friendly and fun! If you have questions

Yes, we do have a website, although your best source of current information at the moment is probably by writing me. The club is putting together another website, and the current one is not updated as often as it should be, LOL!

And this coming Sunday, August 10th, at 6:30 PM we are meeting, so come on over! We now have a fish auction every meeting! Auction starts at 6:30 SHARP!! and ends at 7:00PM, so don't dilly dally, or you will miss it, and I am not kidding, LOL! Then the meeting starts at 7:00 with a guest speaker or something else equally fun, then we have a huge raffle of fish , aquatic plants, foods, filters, a tank, etc! Yeah! And Apisto Dave is going to come down from Oregon and speak all about Apistos too! He was scheduled for this meeting, but looks like he is coming in September now, so you guys just GOTTA COME!! It is going to be great :)

See you in September, and I hope we see lots of faces from this board there as well! Second Sunday in September, 6:30 PM, room 101 of the Casa del Prado in Balboa Park, San Diego! Be there!! Tropical Fish Auction, then Daves apisto program, then Auction of Daves fish, then a huge raffle, even a mini fish show! You gotta be there, it is going to rock!

Be there! There will be a all species tropical fish and aquatic plants auction that starts at 6:30 PM Sharp! Then at 7:00 Dave will give his apistogramma and dwarf cichlids program, then we will have another auction of alll the fish Dave brings down from his collection!! Then a break, a mini fish show, and a huge raffle with hundreds of prizes!! Everyone please attend, attendance is FREE!!!!!!!

Almost time for Dave to come to San Diego!! Anyone here planning to attend??? Here is more info, again, LOL!!

The two auctions are this coming Sunday, Sept 14th, starting promptly at 6:30 PM in room 101 of the Casa del Prado in Balboa park, San Diego (same place the San Diego Zoo is located). At 6:30-7:00 will be an all species fish and aquatic plants auction, all sorts of neat, rare and unusual stuff will be offered, don't be late, it is over at 7:00. Then at 7:00 we have a guest speaker coming down from Oregon named Dave Soares, he is giving a presentation on Apistogrammas and dwarf cichlids, and he is also bringing a ton of fish to auction off. After his presentation, we will break for refreshments, then have auction #2 of his fish. After that we have a huge raffle table filled with dozens of prizes of fish, plants, tanks, filters, food, live food cultures etc. Tickets are only 10c! In short, you are likely to go home with a mess of great stuff for pennies, sure hope you can make it! 6:30PM-7:00PM---- All species tropical fish and aquatic plants auction! Lots of wonderful, healthy, rare, unusual and interesting fish and plants will be auctioned off (CHEAP TOO!). These are fish and plants bred by members of the club. Lots of rare livebearers,cichlids, catfish, plecos, snails,rainbows,inverts, plants, etc.! You never know what will be there, so be on time!
7:00 PM David Soares will entertain us with a colorful program on dwarf cichlids! Immediately following Dave's program, we will be auctioning off all the great, hard to find fish that Dave has brought down from Oregon, so don't forget your wallet!
8:30 or so will be break with yummy refreshments, the mini fish show (This month is Gold Fish and Rare Livebearers), and then our huge raffle, for a chance to win tons of fish related prized like tanks, filters, fish food, live food cultures, aquatic plants, fishes, etc.! Tickets are only 10c each and be prepared to take home lots of stuff, everyone always wins!
