a couple of weeks back, i made an impulse buy of 4 rams and 4 borellis. i treated them in a 10 gal q tank for external parasites a couple of times, and have just been checking them out to see if they are ok. one of the male borelli's died, too bad, but that's life right? it is still a trio, with 2 females, not the end of the world.
on the weekend, i put 4 glowlight tetras and another rock sculpture in there to break up the tension a bit. the rams are quite brightly coloured for their size, but the males haven't grown their high fin yet, so i figured they were quite young. well this am, to prove once again that they will never do what you want them to do when you want them to do it, there is a nice little clutch of eggs on the bottom of the tank, right in the corner. he he, you've always gotta be ready to set up another tank when you are keeping cichlids right?
i'm just running tapwater, and haven't been real careful re- temp, but there you go. looks like i've finally got a decent pair of rams after a few months without any. the other 'pair' in my community set-up seems a dud pair, due to the female showing no interest.
