Hi all,

Well, after finishing the first quiz pretty well (I'm really impressed!), here comes the second one.

...and it's getting a bit harder now ;-)

Have fun!

...and don't forget: please try, not to read the answers of the others ;-)

When do I get to guess??

It seems, that no one else want to guess.... so I don't mind, if you do.

..but I expect, that this time you'll make some mistakes, too!!! *g*

Pretty good, but not as good as the first quiz.
Should I solve or do want to try again?

These are correct....
The following not...

...ask Mervin... *ggg*

Mike Wise said:
7. A. luelingi (Rio Madre de Dios form)
No, it's probably from Nanay/Pucallpa

Mike Wise said:
8. ? a female of a regani-complex species
It's regani-Line, but not Regani group or complex

Mike Wise said:
10. ? a male of a regani-complex species?
Regani-group, yes, but has it's own complex sensu Koslowski

Mike Wise said:
11. ? A. staecki female
No, absolutely not, it's A. aggasizii-Line.
hint:...the face becomes much more red in breeding colour ;-)

Mike Wise said:
13. ? A. sp. Nanay/Bleeding-heart/Bleeding
14. ? A. sp. Pebas (Morado/Purple)
No, but these two are as close related.... just in another complex ;-)

greetings,
Rolo
(I KNOW. that not all pictures are good for identification... but it's a FUN quiz... it's necessary! *g*)

OK, this must be the new blue cacatuoides that is coming in from Europe.

The regani-lineage contains the regani-, macmasteri-, Rotpunkt-, borellii-groups, & Apistogrammoides. It doesn't look like a macmasteri-, Rotpunkt- or borrelli-group species to me. The narrow vertical caudal spot is not typical for these species, so that leaves Apistogrammoides pucallpaensis. The anal fin looks wrong; not enough anal spines. I'm not sure what it is.

Must be A. sp. Winkelfleck/Angle-patch, probably the light form.

If this is A. sp. Abacaxis/Wilhelmi, it is very strange or the photo is not typical. The lateral band is much too narrow for any agassizii-lineage fish except, maybe, A. sp. Blauspeigel/Blue-spangle.

OK, Nr. 14 is an urteagai-complex species, probably A. urteagai, but I cannot be sure from the photo. I need a photo that shows more dark markings to even guess at Nr. 13.

Hi Mike,

okay.. I solve.
Most are correct now.

No. It's a wild cacatuoides. It was supposed a by-catch of A. sp. Schwarzkinn.

It's a female A. hongsloi.
...the (mixed?) breeding form from the first quiz ;-)

No no no.... it's a female A. eremnopyge *harrharr*

Here you are right. Nr. 14 is A. urteagai.
...and Nr. 13 is the close related A. acrensis.

So here are all together:

1) A. sp. Maulbrüter (Mouthbrooder)
2) A. sp. Vielfleck (Multi-Spot), fem.
3) A. sp. Wangenfleck (Cheek-spots)

4) A. elizabethae, fem.
5) A. sp. Putumayo / Algodon II
6) A. sp. Schwarzkinn (Black-chin)

7) A. cacatuoides
8) A. hongsloi, fem.
9) A. sp. Xingú

10) A. sp. Winkelfleck (Anglespot)
11) A. eremnopyge, fem.
12) A. paucisquamis

13) A. acrensis
14) A. urteagai
15) A. mendezi
