Ph & temp and sex ratio..

Uwe Romer has written that ph and water temperature is a main factor in some Apistos brood sex ratio and I was just wondering if from experiences, has anyone seen this in their own tanks etc? I am just wondering because I didn't see and species specifics info in Romers' book. I know he extensively conducted studies with A. Cacatuoides, but haven't found any other info on the other apistos that are affected by ph/temp (sex ratio of fry).

Hi Apistt_ed,

There is a chart in Romers Atlas that lists his results with about 37 different apistogramma species (page 147).

I used Romers results to aquire a 1m2f ratio with my borellii and succeeded everytime.

Hiya,
For those you do not have this book, can you please post this info in here for the A. Cacatuoides & what has been found personally to better suit for breeding, especially is there is differences.

Thanks

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
