HI frist of all i just wanted to say hi and ask afew quick questions. I'm starting a breeding buissness selling Apisto's to local fish shop in this area and wanted to know whats the easyest way to get them to breed?
At what age do they normally start to breed?
Is it ture that the alka in the water as to be at 0 to 10 to get them to breed?
If so whats the best way to get it to be there that a poor boy can do or get?

Let me say thank you to all who replie about this.

Hi Ranch,

1. The easiest way to breed apistos is to select the apistos species which
are easy to breed, e.g. Agassizii, Caca, etc. Some more "technical" species really take some time and luck in order to succeed, especially for beginners.
2. In terms of the water parameters, a pH of around 5.5-6, soft water,
will be good for breeding most apistos.
3. Apistos will get matured as early as 3-4 months (e.g. diplo). Most of them
can start to breed at an age of 6-9 months.
4. In Hong Kong, breeders use Japan's ADA aquasoil as the substrate;
this substrate is known to be very useful and convenient to use for
breeding apistos.

Cheers - blue ^.^
