Hello to all, I put you some photos of my pair of nanochromis dimidiatus

first of the male

the pair are in an aquarium of 60 liters with many plants and rocks, and with 5 nannostomus. The Ph is 6.5, the Kh 2 and the Gh 7, for the time being they eat well. If there is someone that has maintained this species and can give me some counsels for his maintenance and breeding, I was very thanked

Husbandry of Nanochromis dimidiatus

Hello Esteban,

That's a very fine looking pair of fish you have there!

From what you write, it seems like you're housing your pair in an ideal setup. The tank is well decorated, not too small and the water is soft. If you feed them a varied diet and maintain a temperature of about 76-degrees F, you may start seeing some courtship behavior very soon. If the pair is compatible, hopefully they will excavate a cave and spawn.

Male Nanochromis spp. can be quite rough on females, so having a compatible pair is important. The presence of dither fish (like your Nannostomus sp.) can help to diffuse aggression.
