that worked! thanks andrew. i'm pretty illiterate when it comes to all things computer related. it took me a couple minutes to figure out what a browser is.
sorry ed i can't help with an id either. it's a great looking fish though!
The only Laetacara species from Colombia/Venezuela is A. sp. Orange-fins/Orangeflossen, which is what it looks like. Unlike A. curviceps, this species will grow to 4"/10 cm or more. Additionally it requires very soft & acid water to reproduce.
Thanks Mike.
Indeed it has orange coloured fins. Is it a female? I think so.
I got it through an fish importer of whom I buy the added species which find their way in a batch of say a thousand cardinals.
It came along with Nannostomus marginata, Copella arnoldi and two species of unknown Tetra's.
The Laetacara sure looks like L. "Orangeflossen" to me. Should you ever come accross this form in quantity, please let me know. I've wanted this fish for as long as I've been in the hobby.
