Well my very young inka50's were doing well in their grow-out tank. One small male all colored up. The other males...there appear to be a few more....are looking a little femalish without the yellow tint..and are similar to the females.

This morning, I found the little guy and his girlfriend have a spawn of about 8 eggs!!!! Pulling them out of the grow-out tank...he is making life tough for all the others.

I had no idea how early the would spawn...apparently rather young. It seems most of fish like to spawn when I am not ready...isn't that the way it goes!!!!

Indeed and thank you Bev!!!! I guess the best way to breed apistos is not to want them to, yet!!!...seems to work every time....that's 3 out of 3....humm what don't I want to breed next???

But actually I am looking for the ultimate super apisto...a couple of the knock-out color morphs...bitaeniata...trifaciata..those groups and how many others...its getting tough, where to go next? I dont want too many species, just a couple of "top of the line".

    reply to my own post.
don't get me wrong here....there is no ultimate apisto!!! They are in the eye of the beholder. I'm waiting for the one that is "I gotta have it" to me.
