Hi all,

This is my first post, I met Randall on cichlid forum.com and learned about this neat site. I'm looking forward to learning about the West African fish I have limited experience with, and other dwarf cichlids that I never experimented with.

Currently, I keep mostly rift lake cichlids, but I have 4 West African fish:
2 Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis Niloticus) and 2 Syndo Eupterus (Sailfin cats).

Hello Craig,

Welcome to apistogramma.com and welcome to dwarf cichlidom! I think most of the cichlids discussed here are probably smaller than the width of your Oreochromis niloticus!

There is not a whole lot of discussion about tilapiine cichlids here; but hopefully that will change, now that so many are being imported.

Hi Randall,

Thanks for the welcome! I am debating getting rid of the Oreochromis, as the 150 gallon might not be on the Horizon as fast as I expected. If anyone on Long Island is interested, contact me at [email protected] for details. Keep in mind I will be away the week of the 17th of May. (I will not ship, sorry)

I am thinking of redoing the tank with some oddball West African cichlids, I am anxiously awaiting the new book before moving forward.
