Used to keep Malawi cichlids and returned to the hobby a few years ago after a long hiatus, when my daughter wanted a betta. Of course, I couldn't abide by keeping the poor thing in a bowl, so I set up a 5 gallon. That escalated quickly to a 20L community tank, and it was only a matter of time before I got back into cichlids.
Since we have pretty soft water and a 20L, I figured dwarf cichlids made a lot of sense. Been reading a lot of old posts here and have learned a lot. Thought about rams, and would definitely like to keep them someday. Last week got 1 male and 2 female borellii. These little guys have really rekindled my interest in the hobby again. They are about 1.5 inches and haven't fully colored up yet. Will rehome the other residents of the tank (mostly corys) and add a small group of black neons. I'm sure I'll be hitting you up with questions soon!
