Hi, I've been a member here for a few days now, so I figured it would be time to do a proper introduction! My name is Katie, and I've been in the hobby for almost 16 years now and have experience with a variety of species. I've got 16 tanks at the moment not counting my betta tanks. I have 8 Angels, 17 bettas, 2 juvenile blue scorpion Discus (I ordered 3 toward the end of January, 1 was DOA. I'm waiting on warmer weather to order more.), 2 German Blue Rams, a Jack Dempsey, a Black Convict, and 2 Blood Parrots as well as Mystery Snails. I'm ordering Apistogramma Ortegai and Apistogramma Hippolytae tomorrow. The German Blue Rams are a breeding pair. They spawned for the second time yesterday. Their first spawn was March 20 in a community tank (I wasn't expecting them to pair off). They ate the eggs the day after they hatched due to the fish in the tank and now have their own breeding tank. Two of my Angels are a breeding pair. They are Koi Angels and spawn irregularly. They should spawn for the fourth time any day now. They have so far ate the eggs right before they hatched. Two of the other Angels are gold marbles, one is a blue marble, and my 3 new ones are believed to be Philippine blues (one is a pearlscale). As for the bettas, there is Crios, Atlas, Alastor, Ares, Athena, Elayne, Dionysus, unnamed 1, Duke, unnamed 2, Legacy, Harlem, Storm, Hera, Zeus, Scarlet, and Opal. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here!

Hi Katie, welcome :) Be sure to post up any updates with your Rams breeding endeavours. I've kept Rams for many years and had them spawn many times but never tried to rear fry untill now! I'm finding them avid egg eaters! My last spawning was on a leaf which I removed but only after they'd nearly eaten all the eggs! Got a few fry though but was then amazed at how small they are... bbs were to big! I still hv a few fry, but I'm now armed with a new strategy so nxt time I'm prepared.....my pair spawning a few weeks ago...

Ade.

I'll be sure to! I could tell from that first spawn they would be that one in a million pair that acts like they've spawned forever! They lay a lot of eggs. I'm really exciting to see where this pair goes! You expect smaller first spawns usually, but not with these two! I keep infusoria on hand at all times as well as bbs. I didn't mention it in the original post, but I also breed bettas. I'm waiting on my Koi Angel pair to spawn any minute now (it's midnight here).
