Hey everyone,

Yesterday, I went to my LFS and bought 10 1-2cm baby Pelvicachromis spp.. Last night I left the in a Japanese breeding box that acts like an air driven hang on filter for acclamation (very usefull,

). This morning, I was watchijg them and noticed one got out inoto the tank and he/she was fine. So i took out the others except for the 3 smallest. They're taking flake and pellet food and aren't show ing any bad signs. Anything i should look out for?

If there is nothing that can easily eat them, then they should be fine. Do you know which Krib species you have?

No, looks like the Pulchur but I'm not 100% sure. I'll ask my the store I bought them from.

I just have to smile. What is old is new again. These air-driven 'breeding boxes' are similar to many of the HOB (hang on back) air driven outside box filters of the 60s and 70s! Instead of fry in the box, we used floss and carbon. I think I look into these boxes. I could use some external air driven filters if they can be modified to accept foam blocks. And yes your fish are Pv. pulcher.

I'm happy it brings back good memories. It's not in use right now so I might but some carbon and floss on the bottom for some extra filtration in the tank.

Yes Mike, I remember the Halvin air driven HOB filters. Wish I had lots of the stuff from 30 years ago. I would love to have a few metaframe HOB filter with the directional spout that you could aim at the side of the tank. Used to spawn lots of cory cats with these units.

Hi, this breeding Boxes ale very useful when you have shrimps, i will also have some of this boxes
