Sure, Biotodoma fall within the general parameters of the fish discussed here so feel free to fire away with questions, pictures, or what ever. It's a genus I like at least and I'm all for a little discussion about a very cool group of fish.
I purchased three fish this weekend, labelled Biotodoma sp. 'wild peru'. I will try and get a photo soon, they are a bit shy at the moment but are becoming more bold.
I know that 'wild peru' doesn't mean anything at all. I told the dealer that I had seen B. cupido for sale before. He said that they hadn't been available to them for quite a while and that the last three batches of Biotodoma that they had acquired where these 'wild peru' species.
I have read that there is suspicion that there are a few unnamed species, possibly subspecies, of 'cf cupido' and 'cf wavrini'.
Has anyone got any info on the differences between cupido and wavrini?
