Apistogramma sorority?

Hi guys, picked up my first apisto today, a single female cockatoo cichlid.

She'll be in a 30 gallon long heavily planted tank with about 10 ember tetras and a tonne of cherry shrimp.

I dont have time to deal with breeding at the moment, so I won't be getting a male, though i would like to maybe add another female or two. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere whether apistos can be kept in a sorority or not.

Any advice please? Cheers.

It really depends of the layout of the aquarium. In my experience aggression is far greater between females than between males.

Typically male display to each other ... females physically attack (and sometimes kill) each other.
