Hi in the past I was lucky enough to buy a pair off ebay but I lost them a few years back because of a house fire.

I was wondering if the trait is stable? I was only able to breed them once before I lost them so I wasn't able to see the results

But essentially caca's with the checkered red pattern on the front 2 fins seem hard to come by. Is it a random thing that happens? Or a stable trait that's carried to the offspring?

And finally, any chance anyone has some spare ones I can buy off of them?

I'm not certain that it's 100% stable. Just look at a tank of 'Triple Reds' and you'll see some that have more or less color saturation. Some are even more like 'Double Reds'. Of course a lot depends on the breeder and how meticulous they are to cull out less desirable specimens and using only the best, colorwise.
