    Steatocranus tinanti

Good morning from Western Australia. I have ordered 5 steatocranus tinanti from my local fish shop a couple of weeks ago, and I just got a phone call to say they managed to have only 2 arrive for me. Looks to be a male and a female. I would like advice on how to keep these fish from hobbyists...

    Apistogramma Panduro

Nah I got lights on a timer, and co2 system is working sweet (controller etc). Did a lot of things to get rid of algae, so won't be doing the 24 hour lighting. Thanks for the suggestion, but I HATE the look of algae, especially BBA. That's a handy tip for future reference though. Thanks

if any fish breed in the community tank, the fry dont last long. I have a pair of Pelvicachromis Subocellatus Matadi in there and every time they breed, they fry dissapear. That tank also has 10 upside down catfish (syno. nigriventris) which I would imagine predate any fry at night.

    Apistogramma Panduro

Sorry for the late reply. I went to hospital a day after this post, and have been out of action for a few weeks now. I observed these fish, and noticed that a pair formed. They got very aggressive with the other 3 fish, so I have put the 3 spare Apistogramma in a 6 foot planted community tank...

    West African compatibility

Ok thanks gerald. I'll have to organise to put some more wood in the tank to create a bit of a barrier. I have added two more terracotta dwarf cichlid caves to the tank, one at each end. The problem is, the Nigeria Reds have just spawned, so I won't be able to move them for a while.

    West African compatibility

Good evening, I know this is "one of those questions which has already been answered" but I can't find the answer anywhere. I have a tank with is 6 foot wide, 2 foot high, and 2 foot deep. The only cichilds I have in there are a pair of Pelvicachromis Subocellatus "Matadi". I have put 3 dwarf...

    Pelvicachromis subocellatus

I've got 12 juvies in the tank with the parents. The parents are still protecting the juvies, as there is a female gardneri killifish in there as well as a dither fish. I'm considering moving the dither and keeping the rest in the tank, just for a little bit longer.

    Pelvicachromis subocellatus

my fry are now about 1.5cm to 2cm long. Should I keep them in the tank with their parents? Or should I syphon them in to their own tank?

    Pelvicachromis subocellatus

    Pelvicachromis subocellatus

I have a pair of "matadi" kribs and the female has been in her cave for 2 days now. Comes out every now and then for a couple of seconds, but only to chase the gardneri killifish away (dither). Here is a video I uplodaed yesterday: Hope to have fry soon

    West African Cichlid Trade Shortage?

Well I'm in Australia, and have found that for the first time ever they are avaliable. Not cheap, but definately worth the cost. Maybe all the Korean stock is being sent ex-asia to Australia, getting a higher price?
