Not sure how important this is, but it looks to me to be;
Apistogramma (cf) Bitaeniata - Rio Tigre
Absolutely stunning fish, get hold of a female from the original stockist if possible.
Thats good to know, thank you very much Mike.
I just hope i can spawn these now, its a beautiful species and I want more people to be able to enjoy them.
Thanks guys.
Mike, do you know the maximum adult length on a Schwarzkehl, as mine came in as Juvi's and wondering when they'll reach fully grown. My schwarzkehl male pictured above cannot be more than 6cm.
I'd cleaned the glass and fed the fish, so I thought i'd try and get some shots of the Schwarzkehl.
I was rewarded for time and patience. Need to reshoot the female, but i'll get her soon.
Photos can be used elsewhere, though I would like to be informed.
Male:
Female...
That would be fantastic news if true.
Or could it be the floods have moved them into an easier more accessible region? (forgive me if I am misinformed, I had heard that flooding had moved many species out of their natural territory, if only temporarily)
would love to see photos of the male.
Female looks very similar to my Schwarzkehl females, would go for a proper look now but its after lights out. The male in the video also closely resembles my Schwarzkehl male, but it isn't the clearest of videos.
Congratulations on the spawn and I hope...
As Big G says above, some nasties survive the freezing process.
I've stopped feeding bloodwoms to my Apistogramma, the only losses i've had with Apistogramma has came when i've fed Bloodworm more than once a week, Coincidence or not, I don't take the risk anymore.
Looking forward to that Apistodave.
So from the above interesting info, then this is the book I should get at the end of the month, available at an affordable price and seems to be fairly rated by the above...
Thanks Mike, out of interest is this book any good? http://www.maidenheadaquatics.co.uk/spares/product_info.php?products_id=6755 it's by Dieter Bork and focuses on Apistogramma only. Tbh, tell me exactly which book has the most correct and useful information on Apistogramma in your opinion and...
I still see it pop up fairly regularly, atleast once a month.
Thanks for the photo apisto dave, I do take that that is Rotflecken? (i've never personally seen one)
Bah not having a good day for this. Messing everything up.
Shame I cannot find images, would be nice to have an article written up to stop confusion, such as the one I and many others experience.
I have asked before, but how much again for the DATZ book, posted to UK. Will buy one at end of month.
Can someone please provide me with an image of the real Sp Rotflecken (not Alacrina, and not Macmasteri)
I'm trying to establish a correct photo database online so I can help inform those who still believe Macmasteri is viejita, and cannot tell the difference between the 3 species.
I've...
