    Hair Algae, Ugh!

    Stick a BN into the tank and you will never see algae again! They are great and make great tank mates, except when spawning they may eat the apistos eggs.

    my fish world : Betta channoides

    Gorgeous male! I keep and breed B. channoides here in Australia. I recieved a pair in late July 2005 and the first batch of fry was 26-28 of them. I got a 50/50 sex ratio. Pity you weren't here, I have 5-6 pairs in my tanks! What happend to the female? Do you still have her?

    I think cuckatoos (A. cacatouides) or Bolivians are great to start off with... In fact I have never moved beyond this apart from a very beautiful pair of blue rams, that spawned within 24 hours of getting them, and died within 2 weeks of getting :|

    I wouldnt advise placing a Betta in a tank with guppies at all, they have colourful tails and are seen as other males to bettas, also Males bettas cannot tolerate currents so well - I would keep this in mind as if they get stressed they will be very prone to disease, once not worth risking with...
