    Wild ramirezi pictures

Hi, they actually spawned on an oak leaf, as all my Rams seem to do.. When they were wriglers the parents transfered them to the side of the tank which had a good growth of algea on the glass, i can assume they did this because there was a small 2 inch L201 in the tank with them ( i managed to...

Hi, thanks for your reply. That certainly is an amazing male. I will continue to try and get the same result as you have got, unfortunatly my last spawn did not produce any females-78f to80f (i thought i had one female and set it up with her dad but i think it's turning into a male now) Thanks again

    Blue Rams

This is one of 43 blue rams i have bred and are two months old now and just starting to colour up' Three days ago i noticed the black coloured patch on one of them, it's only on one side of the head and the fish is fit and healthy otherwise. My guess is that it's just a colour fault as i can't...

    cacatuoids

I saw this cacs in my local shop about six months ago and i just had to buy him,, i had never seen a coloured pelvic fin on a cacs before. I mated him with a double red female of mine and have got some very nice triple males (even better than dad ) but none of them show any red and black in the...

    Sick Apisto advice please

Hi,they are not happy in that tank are they. What are those rocks in your second photo,i think there is some polution from something and i would either remove them to another tank or remove the decor and do a big water change and see how they react.

    Pellet food headach

Hi, I use Hikari gold and Staple floating pellet (mini and baby size) food for all my Fishes. I just soak a few pellets in water in a shot glass for ten mins , they become soft and i then squeeze them a bit and they sink. All the fish eat them easily, even small 1cm apistos and rams tear a bit...

    Dying fry

Hi, i am also in the same situation as you after moving 40 young cacatuoid fry into a spare tank. After a lot of thinking and testing i have gone all out to try and save the remaining 20 fry so i have removed all the fry and put them in another tank with totally new water and different plants...

    Alter Ph

Hi Darrel, thanks for the reply. IInteresting read about the water quality in the central area.Yes my water does come from the Elan valley. I would love to use rainwater but it's not allways available and collecting enough to maintain a supply for me would require a lot of storage contaiers...

    Alter Ph

Hi Darrel, thanks for the info. Have allready tried Alder cones and they certainly colour the water up and go mouldy quickly. What will sugars from the fruit do in the long term to the water quality? I certainly don't want to use chemicals and i am looking for a natural way of lowering the Ph of...

    Red rams

HI Thanks for the replies My main point of the post was the distinct red front and white rear of the fish. I have used "red crumb" from TA Aquaculture before and whilst a good food i think is expensive compared to Hikari Cichlid Gold and Cichlid Staple which i now use.

    Red rams

The Gold Rams i kept over 20 years ago were all one colour of yellew gold but the fish i saw in the shop were distinctly half white and half a more redder gold colour. The photo i posted is as taken by my phone and shows the colour change exactly down the middle of the fish. Thanks for the replies.

    Alter Ph

I am aware of using peat and oak leaves etc. My problem is i don't realy like the brown water that it produces-i like to see the wonderful colours of the fish and not the subdued colours with the brown water. I am sure this has been asked befor but has any one tried lime juice or any other...

    Red rams

http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y379/apistoman/red%20rams/DSC00504.jpg I saw these in a local shop and thought you might like to comment on them. They were in a group of 10 identical all males and looked in good condition. The vendor said they were not a dyed fish, but i don't believe him-...
