Well, just an update. I have treated twice now with the parasite clear tank buddies, and keeping them in salt at 1TBS per 10g. Most of the fish are seeming to look a little better. I am seeing clear feces with white clumps, possibly eggs. I'll be doing one more treatment tomorrow night...
Hi, Ted!! Happy Birthday! It was a couple days ago, right?
I didn't know the meds are light sensitive!! I wish I had known that!
So, I already had some parasite clear tank buddies (prazi, metro, diflubendazole, acriflavine) and I dosed it at about 1 1/2 - 2 times the recommended...
Thanks for the replies.
I've actually been doing that as best as I can. I'm trying to control the columnaris with salt and soft water, and the septicemia I'm kind of ignoring. I don't think either of those are killing my fish.
I actually did a treatment with the parasite clear tank...
Several of them have stopped eating. Some of them are floating on their sides at the top of the water, and can't swim down. The feces is clear and slimy looking. Right after feeding with fenbendazole medicated flake, some of the feces was like white clumps incased in a slimy thing... and it...
OH, sorry I forgot to include the link to the thread for those to get up to date...

But to answer your question, I went through a system wide single or double dose of the parasite clear tabs, then full course of kanamycin on the...
I am posting this because I have some apistos that are having signs of disease, but the problems seem to have originated with angelfish.
See this facebook photo album for pictures of ALL the fish that I could get. Photo #23 and on was taken today from one tank, and a full testing panel was...
I have a biteaniata male that was pretty skinny when I got him, along with a female which seems to have recovered and is getting better looking. Anyways, this male is now like bent in half, sideways, and mostly resting on the substrate on his side. His eyes look a little big, but not that...
I have about 10 extra females. I believe they are F2s. I believe they are breeding age, but not sure.
I have never shipped before, so here's the deal to get me started. You can have as many as you like for $2 each plus the price of whichever shipping method you choose, no live arrival...
I'm actually looking for someone else, through the grapevine, so if you've got them for sale, please get me your email address and I'll pass it on.
Thanks!
Hannah
They are clear flexible PVC tubing. I think the 1 inch size, maybe 1 1/2. I cut them with the openning at an angle. Because they are open on both sides, females can nest.
I actually have 3 caves in the tank and both females are now guarding broods. The first are almost free swimmers I...
Well, the best way is a reverse osmosis unit IMO. Rainwater is not totally pure, especially if you live in a high smog area. But if it's your only option, you just have to do what you can.
The ratio you'll have to figure out based on the hardness of your tap water.
Thanks, Tom!!
I guess I should go out and get more of the black diamond sand like I have in my 55. I have 3 females and one male in there, with some guppies.
