    apisto eggs turned white

IMO - if the eggs are growing a white fungus on them then don't fuss to much at the moment, the parents should learn how to deal with this. You could create more water flow to help. If the eggs are turning a solid white colour then it is one of 2 things, either one of the parents are infertile...

    Dark female cauc

Black fish generally is not a good sign. Is it all over or are certain areas worse? First things to check for are your water parameters and what other inhabitants she is with that might be causing her stress. Do a water change and move the ornaments in the tank around a little, adding some extra...

    Apisto Cacatuoides

postmanpaul: I would be worried about the plecs and the sharks with your cacs. Both can get reasonably large, sharks have a tendancy to get aggressive and unfortunately cacs will stay small while the plecs and sharks wont. Sooner or later your cacs will be attacked out of aggression or they will...

Gday Hassles, Images recieved fine. Did a bit more fine tuning on them before uploading. They are nowhere near as big as when you first sent them to me, and a little more cropped. My male definitely looks very different to yours, despite being brothers. Mine has far more distinct markings, and...

 thanks Ed. Other than that we can't come to any further conclusions I suppose? That's reasonably vague, but regardless I am happy with my fishies

    apistogramma advice

If I had a pick of two out of those 3 I would definitely go for the steindachneri. Don't miss those! Then I would choose Jurensis over gibbiceps purely out of personal preference for the species.

Aquaticclarity: Yes, photoshop is good for many things, and prefer it for image editing. When you have to do batch commands on numerous images though I would definitely suggest using fireworks, as the batch command tools are unbeatable by any other software on the market that I have seen. So...

 A little slower for the not so bright one's here please.... So are we saying it is a subspecies of trifasciata or it is a colour morph of the trifasciata? I am fairly convinced that it is part of the trifasciata family, and not erythrura. but as you have said Hassles, trifasciata...

What do you mean by format? Resizing or changing the extension fomat? You can do both with almost any image editing software, but if there is a specific function your looking for I can keep my eyes peeled for you big bird. Im on the net enough...

Don't tease me, I can't get any more fish right now, we might have to move house soon and were trying to save like mad men... Please don't tease me with stuff like that, it's downright cruel torture. I need some grog to ease the pain, send that with the fish :P Hmmm... So how different were...

    apistogramma advice

Talbot gives some good advice when introducing new fish to another fish's territory... While waiting for fish to acclimatise, change the decorations in the tank around, so that it breaks up the territory and they have to make new territory boundaries. This basically means that if you can't...

Tried to add an attachment to visually show the fish I have, but Krikey I can't figure the bloody thing out. So here is a link to an image that I found when googling "A. cf. trifasciata" http://www.elpradopreserve.org/Images/apistogramma%20trifasciata.jpg Although this is not my fish, it...

BigBird: yes yes I noticed you were in the Shire... well kind of, if you consider anything over a bridge still in the original boundaries of the shire  As I mentioned in another thread, I got my apisto's from Hassles, who got them from his lfs who is making great breakthroughs with...

I have seen it listed as A. erythrura among other things. What do mean by "there is no such species as A. maciliensis" , please make yourself a little clearer because from where I'm sitting I would say I have a fish in my tank that fits the description. I know there is a huge possibility that...

LFS in Sutherland Shire NSW Australia

St George had A. sp. "tefe" last Saturday. Sutho pet care direct mentioned the desire to have an apisto section but to no avail so far, although they have a few pairs in a display tank jut as you walk up the stairs. Other than that majestic have had cacs and borelli about 4mnths ago. That's all...
