i am juggling tank space abit at the moment and have moved my lone female A. panduro in with about 100-120 jewel cichlid fry i know jewels are pugnatious when older all the fry are just under a cm long they are schooling tightly again since i put her in there my question is will this arrangement...
just an update iv got 3 tanks currently setup for apisto's at the moment my rams have spawned for a 3erd time tonight (hopefully they dont eat the offspring this time) i still have the lone panduro im considering moving her on to make room for other apistos i can get pairs of the macmasteri are...
so if bloodworms are out what do you normally feed your apisto's iv been feeding frozen bloodworms, frozen brineshrimp and i bought nutrafin max discus sinking granules for a filler although i mostly feed the frozen foods as that has spawned everything else ive kept so far including my rams...
id love some but unfortunatly us perth apisto people are doing a group buy off hassels and he wont have any ready by the time we order so im going choose 2 species out of

update i have a good fishshop looking for a panduro male for me may even buy a small group to try and get a pair, my macmasteri are going ok and colouring up nicely in the 3fter, my mrs purchased a 60x18x18 inch aquarium for my birthday next month its the first brand new tank iv had so looks...
my pair spawned the first time last week and cared for their eggs for 3 days and then ate them (may have eaten the wrigglers), they spawned again tonight this time in a diff spot and the spawn seems a little larger then the first im going to see what happens but when i notice the pair cleaning...
when you age your water how do you do it? do you leave it in a bucket for a week or what
at the moment i throw a big airstone in my 120L bucket all water in the bucket has been thrown through my peat filter and leave it for a night should i be leaving it for a week? will it make a difference...
the rams this will be their 2end spawn the first one got to day 3 (hatching day) and the rams ate them (im geussing when they became wrigglers), this spawn is quiet large about double the size of the first im unsure of if i should leave them in with the eggs and see if the first spawn repeats...

yeh all the places i scoured for apisto's agrazzi's double reds were 70 for a pair, normal agrazzi's that look like the wild ones were only about 10 each, the cac's are about 15-20 each

just a couple of quick and silly questions
can i use fine gravel in my apisto breeding setups or do they require sand? i have sand in the 3fter and the others are currently fully cycled bare bottem tanks that i will of course put substrates and decor in as i aquire the apistogrammas

ill definatly be grabbing one of these in afew months pitty i cant breed apisto spp in ph 7 water

hey mike yea i know my tap water sucks hence why im buying a bag of the aqua soil it is designed for hard tap water like mine to suck the hardness out of it and make it soft water its around 100 bucks a 9L bag if i start getting offspring out of some apisto's ill fork out for an RO unit
