...ummm... guys... check the post dates heh.. I'm pretty sure that by now the original poster has either sorted out his apisto housing situation or given up on it :P
*chuckles*

Hey mate,
Just wondering if you have any apistogramma ready for sale at the moment and if so, are you willing to post to Perth? Myself and at least one other person are having difficulty sourcing anything at a reasonable price over here and are considering setting up a group buy if we can...
Hrmm I guess I'll never really know the true cause, but that may well have been the case. The loach is significantly larger than the apisto's and does get much more active & inquisitive when the lights go out, so I could definately imagine him tormenting her at night and doubt very much that he...
Howdy all..
Well, my A. Baenschi female died this arvo *sobs* so I'm looking to either get 2 replacement females to try with my male, or a pair or trio of another species to have a go at.
Anybody here in Western Australia, or elsewhere in australia but is willing to ship to Western...
Thanks for the reply here too Mike heh... I spoke to the LFS about those rams again this morning and apparently the supplier is out of stock of the stunners and not sure when they'll be getting that quality again, so I'll just keep on keeping on for now :)
-Dave
Cheers for the suggestion Mike, I haven't seen any real aggression and her fins don't appear damaged but I'll get a bit of tube to float in there just in case.
Cheers,
Dave
Hey all,
Just came home this arvo to find our female apistogramma baenschi at the top of the tank with her mouth open & looking very faded... I immediately did a ~40% water change and tested the water. Tests seem ok with pH 6.6-6.8, nitrate 10, ammonia 0, nitrite 0.
her colour seems to...
Howdy all,
Got another quick question on stocking... I currently have a pair (no breeding yet though *mutters* anyone in Aus. got a spare baenschi female?) of A. Baenschi in a ~25G tank (roughly 36x12" footprint) with 6x neon tetras, 1x ~6cm Bristlenose and 1x yoyo loach (who is coming out...
Hey I know this is an old post but I figured I'd tack my query onto here rather than starting a new thread on a similar topic...
I've got a pair of Apistogramma Baenschi / Inka 50 that I bought when they were only around 1cm TL, and was wondering what size/age these guys tend to start...
Haha they are that bad are they? Damn, oh well :) Cheers for the info heh
Like you say they are beautiful fish, I haven't seen any aggression yet from either party but also no signs of spawning yet since they're still quite young.. The male has started chasing the female around a little bit...
Hello all,
I was just wondering if anyone could suggest another Apistogramma species to share a 30G tank with my wife's pair of A. Baenschi? I bought them for her when they were all of ~1.5cm long and they've grown into a very handsome pair of fish, but the mrs would like something else to...
Yeah I'm still going to get a pair (or do they prefer harem? I cant remember heh) of cac's in the near future I think.. probably once I get the stand sorted for the baenschi's tank then I will get some cac's to go into the community tank.. definately not phased by the $50 for the pair, never...
Awesome cheers for the info there Darrel.. definately given me some things to chase up :)
Hassles, I'm way out west in Perth.. got the baenschi from a LFS here when I was ringing around trying to find a pair of Cockatoos. $50 for the pair, don't know if thats a good price or an absolute rip...
Thanks for that Darrel, pretty much what I figured but was hoping to be told otherwise haha (wishful thinking :) Oh well heh)
Thinking at the moment that I will put neon tetras in there as dither fish with the baenschi and leave the rams in the community tank until another tank is approved by...
Hello all, this is my first time posting here so please be gentle ;)
I picked up a pair of A. Baenschi on the weekend, very small young fish which have yet to colour up fully but look like they have great potential and seem quite comfortable with one another so *fingers crossed*. This is my...
