    eye disease in A Thomasi

Hi everyone. Just noticed an issue with one of my A Thomasi. Small 2 mm transluscent growth on bottom of L eye. Otherwise the fish is completely healthy and acting normally. Eating well normal aggressiveness, etc. Not affecting any other fish. Ideas? Thanks, Jeff

    Companions?

What is the viability of keeping one of the pseudocrenilabrus species, either nicholsi or philander in a 54 gal heavily planted tank with kribs? There are plenty of dithers present. Thanks, Jeff

    Compatibility?

Wondering what differences, if any exist in the behavior of hemichromis stellifer and hemichromis cristatus?

    Compatibility?

In addition to H. Christatus, how about P. subocellatus moanda, a thomassi,or cryptoheros nanoluteus? Would these work as well. By the way, anyone know where to find some of these? thanks

    Compatibility?

I have a 54 gallon tank which is currently being dominated by a pair of Kribs and their seemingly gazillions of fry. I have dither fish, cats, etc, and plenty of breeding caves, plants, hiding places. I am looking for another pair of cichlids to put in the tank that will hopefully co-exist...

Where can I find photos of various pelvicachromis species so I know what they look like. I have basically had it with apistos and it seems that the west african dwarfs do much better in my tanks. Thanks

    P Taeniatus issue

Well, I threw a couple of female pulcher's in last night and didn't see a whole lot of improvement yet. The females were not large yet. Maybe I'll see some gain, today.

    P Taeniatus issue

Ted, I don't think the pulcher idea will work because I don't want to keep them. If I put the male in a breeding net, how big of a net do I need? He obviously won't be very happy there but this seems like the best solution. How long do I, or can I, keep him there? Jeff

    P Taeniatus issue

Hi everyone. I'm starting to notice a problem I hope you can help with. I had raised some P Taeniatus Wouri fry to adulthood and kept a female. I transferred her back to my main tank about 6 months ago and she was doing very well. My male had died and I recently purchased a male. This was...

    Apisto nutrition

My water parameters are good. I have a community tank and whatever the problem is, seems to only affect the cichlids. My black skirt tetras, hatchets, and bottom dwellers are not bothered. I have noticed something similar to a problem I was reading about in another thread on the site. An...

    Apisto nutrition

Hi. Just wondering about nutritional requirements. I do not have the ability of using live foods at this time. I have been using various flake foods in combination with frozen bloodworms, enriched brine shrimp, something called freshwater frenzy, and cyclops. It appears that my apistos will...
