I purchased this guy from my LFS as an Agassizi male. They have been wrong about apistos before, so I wanted to check to see what the experts think. I have had it for about a month, it lives in a community tank where it is dominant, and its about an inch and a half, probably around 6 months old...
I would like to move a a rather submissive female blovian into a 30 gallon tank with 4 blue rams, are there any obvious problems with this move?
The bolivian has lived with a male apisto steel blue for more than 2 years, and I believe she will be less stressed with the blue rams
thanks
After reading the responses I believe my Apisto may be around for a while longer. He has never bred, he lives in a heavily planted 30 gallon tank with very few neigbors (1 otto, 2 guppies, and a badis badis to chase when he's bored), and regular water changes.
thanks for all your responses
How long can I expect my apisto to live for. It is a steel blue male. I have had him for two years and he was almost mature when I got him from a LFS.
thanks
Steel Blue + Bolivian Ram
I have a 26 gallon bow tank which is moderately to heavily planted with anubis, ludwigia, java fern, etc., 2 small caves and driftwood. I have 1 mature a. steel blue male, 1 otto cat, 1 zipper loach, and 1 Badis Badis.
I was thinking of adding a juvenile Bolivian Ram...
I am in search of the elusive Apistogramm sp. Steel Blue female. I have a mature male who currently resides in a community tank. I am looking for one or two females and will work with any one who can help. I live in NY, USA.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
I can not offer any advice in this matter, but I am interested in what part of the world you are in. I have been looking for Steel Blue Females for a while. My LFS is of no help since they had the Steel Blue I have now labled as an Agassazi Morph. I have a single male who is definitely mature...
Could someone tell me a method for sexing an aeqquidens curviceps? And would it be possible to add a pair of them to a 29 gallon planted tank with a male apisto steel blue, a oto cat, and a zipper loach?
Thank You

This is my first apistogramma, the store I purchased it from labeled it as an Apistogramma agassizi (morph). From the pictures I've looked at in my research I am not sure if this is correct. Can anyone tell me specifically what type of Apisto this is, and whther it is a male or...
