Does anyone have any hopefully fertile, male cristatus? I do have a few functional females but the males that I possess are all infertile due to being kept @ high temps for too long a period (over 90 Fahrenheit ) combined with age.
Just a heads up. Atlantis Tropical Fish in N.Y. seems to be listing the Sierra Leone race of Thomasi on Aquabid. These have been very hard to come by in the last few years. This all assuming that the fish for sale are those shown in the photo included in the listing.
It has been reported that flouridated water can have a negative effect on fish reproduction, etc. but in reality, how much of a problem has it really been for all of you fish breeders out there? If it is indeed a significant problem, it seems to depend a lot on the species involved, IMHO.
Looking for the Sierra Leone population of A. Thomasi if it is still available anyuwhere. Also am seeking for Hemichromis 'cf. cristatus UL-1' which is sometimes labeled as 'true cristatus' ( just may be that fish IMHO)- See my avatar pic.
I am still having no success in getting a hatch out of my hemichromis 'cf. cristatus UL-1's' (avatar) & have ruled out so far- pH, water chemistry & flouride ( I thought for sure that this was it). Presently they are in RO water with a low tds & a pH that has been as low a 4 (presently @ 5.5)...
As I recall, someone was breeding 'electric blue' ramerizi successfully. How did it turn out & this is my real question, did the blue color of the parents carry over to the offspring?
I want some TRUE L. CURVICEPS -cash or trade I can offer in trade= Pairs of hemichromis cristatus ( sensu Lamboj ) or sp. Bangui, Juvenile F2 Peruvian scalare angels ('faux altum'), WC licorice gourami (sp. ?) or good old dinero..
I have a group of 5 black-banded sunfish for sale. Looks like 3 females & 2 males. Young fish, probably last years hatch. Size is around 2 1/2". I really wanted to spawn these but space is @ a real premium @ present. Asking $90 + shipping.
I would like to give these a shot, does anyone have a source.. I believe that I have had them in the past but didn't really know what they were  ... Also, ennybuddy got a start of Moina?... I reside in Utah...
