    A. Cacatuoides and very small dither fish

Has anyone kept A. Cacatuoides with very small fish? I am thinking of fish<1", such as celestial pearl danios, ember tetras, or boraras species. I am just wondering if it is safe to keep them together, given the large (by comparison) mouth of the apisto.

Multiple harems of Cacatuoides in the same tank?

It would be nice if they bred, but I don't really have any intentions on raising fry. If it happens and some survive, great, but I just want a show tank. If I only had room for more tanks

Multiple harems of Cacatuoides in the same tank?

I am taking down my 55 in August and setting up a 90. I am currently planning out the stock list. It will be a very heavily planted community tank with mostly schooling fish. I wanted to add a trio of cacatuoides to my 55, but decided to wait until I set up the 90. The stock list is not set...

    Water Parameters

I'm not sure how accurate the gH/kH values are, but I have tested for pH many times at around 8.2 I would be getting fish roughly from the same area, but I think the LFS uses RO, since they breed the fish themselves.

    Water Parameters

I haven't kept any apistogramma yet, and I'm trying to get more info. How vital is it to have low pH and TDS for apistos? I am thinking about 2 male cacatuoides in a 55g. I don't have an RO filter, and I probably don't have the money for one at this point in time. My tap is fairly hard...

    All male a. cacatuoides tank

As per Mike Wise's recommendations from my last thread, I have decided I will try to keep 2 male cacatuoides in my 55 gallon. What are your suggestions for keeping aggression to a minimum? Do males need caves? I previously built some crude caves in my tank using pieces of slate, then covered...

    Apistos and GBR

Will the male apistos fight? I didn't know I could keep more than one male together without a great number of females.

    Apistos and GBR

Hmmm, so GBR's would make good tankmates for discus? Here is what I am considering stocking (not all of it, just trying to see what will fit together): Apistogramma Cacatuoides GBR Angelfish (probably just one, if any) Cardinals Tetras Diamond Tetras Rummynose Tetras I've really...

Local Apisto or Ram Breeders? (SE Michigan)

Is anyone on this forum breeding apistos or rams and located fairly close to Ann Arbor? There's only one store carrying apistos or rams that I would trust around here, but the apistos are all full grown. I'd like to try out some juveniles.

    Apistos and GBR

Thanks for letting me know, what exactly are the temperature preferences? This may play a role in ultimately deciding what fish to get. I really like how double or triple red cacatuoides look, but they might be more trouble than they're worth.

    Apistos and GBR

I know this combination has been asked many, many times, but I would just like to know the specifics of different variations of these two. First, my tank will be a heavily planted 55g. Second, I would like to keep A. Cacatuoides. I know the general consensus is that the GBR(s) will be...
