Saw these today, obviously mislabeled as aggassizi. the look like a regani group possibly cruzi type, but that's as far as it goes for me. The photos aren't great, they kept chasing small A. thomasi and wouldn't stay still...
I recently won a group of sapphire rams at an auction. The group ended up being 1m 3f and the male ended up spawning with all 3 a week later. I always thought rams pair bonded is this fact or would they lean toward a harem if there is enough space?
I am looking into tankmates for my bitaeniata trio and I am trying to decide between n. marginatus and the A. reisei. Is there anyone that has experience with the reisei that can give me any info on possible fry predation?
I'd like to put biotope together for my bitaeniata, but so far I can only find N. marginatus are found in the same river. What other available fish might occur with them?
Got this oddball out of a tank of what was supposed to be wild caught pertensis just wondering if it is brietbinden, shop owner is ordering more to see if he can get me some females.
Local shop has a few of these that came in with wild pertensis, this female is just over an inch long and was the biggest. The owner separated them out so I could hopefully get a male when the others grow a bit more, any ideas?
Got these 2 the other day but both look like males to me as they ate showing the same coloration.
The fish in the second photo is a little stressed due to his tankmate and myself trying to get a decent shot of him.
Last night I noticed that my female was alot thinner than usual and spending alot of time in the cave no today the female is out and about and the male is in the cave only popping out to eat and chase the female off. Everybody has heard the stories of males mouthbrooding fry but what are the...
Does anyone here have any experience with breeding these fish that can give me a few pointers? From what I've heard the are not as easy to breed as my Nicholsi and a lot of people have trouble with them. My females have looked like they are ready to explode but won't spawn. I am currently...
My daughter won 3 geophagus redhead topajos in a childrens raffle at an auction yesterday and would like to make a biotope. What tetras, cories, dwarves and plecos are found in that area? Any help would be great and greatly appreciated by my daughter.
I picked up a few cynolebias antenori at an auction yesterday and would like to know what apistos or other dwarves might be found with them. They seem interesting enough to include in a biotope.
Does anybody have some advice on getting rid of snail without killing my plants? I've noticed that products made to kill snails contains quite a bit of copper, so those are out of the question. I have tried using a pvc tube capped off on one end for a trap(which works ok as long as the apistos...
In the last week and a half my Biotoecus Opercularis male has been a busy guy, all three females have spawned with the first spawn free swimming today. These fish have obviously never heard the stories of how hard they are to keep and spawn. The one thing I have never heard was how small the...
Just wondering if anyone might have a few T. Candidi female they'd be willing to part with? Out of all of the Taeniacara I've accumulated recently it looks like I only have 2.
