Hydra are sensitive to copper, so you can eradicate them with a copper-based disease medication. or a battery attached to copper wire

I posted this topic last week. I was planning to pick up what I needed today but I never wrote down the info that was posted here. I know one reply was from Aspen and another was from Fishgeek, I'm not sure of any others.
Could you guys repost your replies?
There is another thread about...
Hi locus, Really glad to know there are ones in WA who appreciate some good quality fish such as apisto, I've seen too many poor quality apisto mainly caca in Perth. Can I ask where you bought them or through whom, cos I am interested as well. My suggestion for you to prepare the apisto tank...

Funny you should ask this question _BaDgUy_ as I was going to ask the very same thing!
It has always been my experience that males die first and I too have a collection of dwarf cichlid females without males. Sometimes the males die soon after purchase, sometimes they seem fine for months and...
Kinked spine can result from nitrite poisoning, I see it all the time in livebearers- but they usually cark it soon after. If it is nitrite, your fish won't breed anyway.
Sounds like whitespot to me. Unless you're talking about a marine tank I wouldn't really worry about testing for Cu, it's more likely an Ammonia problem. There are heaps of different whitespot medications out there, just be careful though, if you have skinfish like elephantnose and knifefish...
Hi,
I cannot have a diagnostic for your fish's deaths, so I'm not sure what you should treat if you must treat.
I do not think that treating a tank is a good goal. One should treat a diagnosed pathology on a sick fish. I understand very well that you'd like to save your fishes, but...
If treating freeze dried brine with garlic elixer and pipzine and feeding to the fish, how long should the worm elimination process take? I have been treating for 4 days and have not noticed any change in status.
Steve
These worms are becoming a real pain. I have a thorough infestation through which I have lost three fish, including my beautiful male agasizzi. Currently, my cacatuoide pair, my reamaining agasizzi, my angel, and keyholes have this parasite. I have set up two quarantine tanks, and heave...
The spots could be caused by the scratching that the fish is doing. This will dislodge scales and cause localized sores. I would give the fish a 2-3 minute bath in salt water. Specific gravity of 1.023. This treatment can be repeated every day if needed, but I recommend every other day. Do...
I was wondering what a good medication for treating mouth fungus on a blue ram and dropsy in small tetras in a community tank containing several species of Apistos. The tank is heavily planted 75 gallons, 0-nitrates, nitrites, ammonia, phosphates. pH-6.8 . I am mostly worried about the apistos...
Hi Randall,
I have been advised in the past to dose with half the recommended dose. I don't pay attention to it though. not to disregard your advice, as I certainly appreciate it. If i dose with half the measure, then it will be required that I treat for a longer period of time. I feel that it...
