I had these guys shipped to me as A. agassizii "Tefe Bauana" but I've since been told by someone that they may not be aforementioned Apisto. Could someone here please let me know what they're thoughts are regarding identification?

I have read that peat should not be used in a filter with activated carbon because the carbon will nullify some of the peat's properties. Does this mean that the carbon will also lessen peat's ability to reduce pH and soften water?
